Novel Geopolymer Concrete

Project Overview

 

A comprehensive study will be conducted to evaluate the properties of abundantly available waste materials such as bottom ash, steel slag, metakaolin, etc. Then several ambient-cured one-part geopolymer concrete mix designs will be proposed in which one or combination of different waste materials will be used as source for aluminosilicate and will be activated using solid alkaline activators. The one-part geopolymer concrete mixes meet the requirement for RMS specification as well as possess high early strength, low permeability and good acid and fire resistance properties.
